Foundation QA has provided geotechnical and pile driveability advice to AML Consultants for the Floating Storage and Offloading Vessel of the South Angsi  Development, South China Seas.

Foundation QA’s advice covered the following aspects :

  • Evaluation of geotechnical conditions of the seabed
  • Evaluation of jacket pile driving
  • Evaluation of axial compression and tension capacity, and lateral stability of FSO anchor piles
  • Evaluation of reverse catenary chain profiles in seabed under critical loading
  • Evaluation of pile driveability, including assessment of piling hammer requirements under critical construction scenarios
  • Evaluation of self-penetration of piles, and stability of the submerged and raked pile and hammer in the Fastframe system on the seabed muds
  • Submission of design calculations to American Bureau of Shipping, and close-out of all anchor piling issues for ABS approval
  • Review of pile driving records
