Bridge over Murray River Euston-Robinvale PDF Print E-mail

Baulderstone Hornibrook was the successful tenderer of a design-construct bid for the new bridge over the Murray River between Euston (NSW) and Robinvale (VIC) for the Road and Traffic Authority of New South Wales.  Coffey Geosciences was the geotechnical designer for the contractor.  The foundations comprised driven steel tube piles which were partially excavated and concrete-filled.

Dr. Seidel was appointed geotechnical reviewer for the main river span foundations, undertaking independent check analyses on the foundation loads, assessing the geotechnical conditions, and providing review of all aspects of the planning and execution of the foundation works.

Dr. Seidel also provided advice in regard to the execution of dynamic pile tests on the completed concrete-filled steel piles, and assisted Coffey Geosciences in the analysis of the test results.

The bridge was opened on October 6, 2006.
